About Our Furniture

We exclusively use Thuja plicata – Western Red Cedar, a species native to the great Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. This wood is well known for its resistance to decay and strong aromatic scent while being worked. Natural Impermeability to liquids and phenol preservatives make it ideally suited for exterior applications and uses where humidity is high. Roofing shingles, fences, decks, siding and architectural trim are some of the many uses where weather exposure demands a durable, long lasting material.

Our fasteners (screws, nuts, bolts and washers) were selected to not react with the cedar. We don’t use nails and we won’t substitute a screw where we could use a nut and bolt. We expect our products to be sturdy, durable and comfortable.

Sustainability

Independent studies prove the environmental performance of Cedar is superior to synthetic products. Other building materials generate greenhouse gasses, Cedar actually remove greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere. Cedar is renewable, biodegradable and sourced from the most sustainably managed forests in the world. Our Cedar is harvested from 2nd and 3rd growth forests, for every tree harvested three trees are planted. Cedar renewable and biodegradable, all of our scraps are recycled into compost.
